Mother's Day 2012.
I love being a Mom, almost everything I do centers around kids and my family. Family is definatly the most important thing in my life. I think my kids are wonderful and some times just sit back and look and them and think how lucky I am to be their Mom. They bring so much joy into my life. There are still those frustrating days when I want to flick them in the head, but over all they are super kids. Alex gave me my favorit treats, Ethan made me a lovely glass cup with a Mother's Day etching on it and Jordan wrote and sang me a song. This is a song that Jordan did for me on Mother's Day. Jordan wrote the words and music for it. He has only been playing the guitar since Feb. I think he is a natural. I am not someone who crys over things, but I will have to say the song made my eyes misty. I was very touched.

A dangerous game of dodgeball
Our church group is doing a dodge ball tournament for youth and one for adults. A week and a half ago while Jody and Judie were visiting we decided to all go and play in the game. This was my first game due to conflicts with kids schedules. Well we were half way into the game and as I was going for a ball, I had a little accident. I remember my body twisting one way and my knee the other. As I fell down I felt a pop in my knee, had a ton of pain and thought to myself "knees are not suppose to be bending this way, this is very bad". I scooted myself off the gym floor onto the side and rested there until I felt I had some control. The pain subsided a little so I thought ok I can walk out of the church myself, well my knee buckled and I could not walk on it. I had to have help getting into the car. The last week I have had xrays, MRI's, doctors appointments and physical therapy. I ended up completely tearing my ACL and injuring my MCL. I need to have surgery on the ACL, but that can not be done until the MCL heals and I get my full range of motion back in my knee. So, my surgery will be in May sometime. I had been sooooo excited to start running outside and the day before this happened ran 6 miles around a small lake. I was getting geared up for Triathlon season and deciding what races to do and even joined a women's tri group called Triple Threat Triathletes. Well all my summer workouts/races are out. It has been very frustrating because I absolutely hate having to ask for help from anyone even my husband. I have the" I can do it myself" attitude, and now I have to have help with stuff. I keep telling myself it's only a knee, it could be much worse. It is very hard for me to have to slow down, and it takes me forever to get small tasks done, that involve walking. I have decided I am going to set records for fastest recovery and will be running/biking/swimming before summer is over. This picture is of what I will get done to my knee in a few weeks, except my doctor will use a piece of my hamstring for the graph instead of PCL in the picture. I find it very interesting and fascinating how doctors can repair injuries. Thanks goodness for modern medicine!!! It also kind of creeps me out a little.

Scout Blue and Gold
The cub scout blue and gold dinner was so much fun this year. The theme was Star Wars and they boys were suppose to make a cake with their Dads. Ethan looked online and found this cake. I made the cake, fondant and staked it and put the first layer on fondant on it but the guys did the rest. It turned out fantastic and was a hit. Good job boys!!!!! Also, I have been doing a ton of cakes and cupcakes, so if you want to see the lastest go to my other blog from the pull down menu on this blog.

Herriman High Christmas Concert
Herriman High held its 2nd Christmas concert. Jordan plays percussion in the band and was able to participate in the concert. All the preformers had to be dressed up, so this was Jordans first time wearing a tux. Next year I am sure he will get more opportunity to wear tuxes because he turns 16 and will be attending a bunch of school dances. Isnt he just the handsomest 10th grader.

Day one-- Hiking in Hawaii
Destination Hawaii--
This year we decided to take the family to Hawaii for Christmas instead of getting gifts for the kids. We flew out and visited with Chad's brother Mike and his family who live in Kanohe Bay on the island of Oahu. It was probably the best family vacation we had. Chad's brother Mike has three adorable little boys named Logan, Porter and Noah. Autumn is expecting there first girl in a month.

Pearl Harbor
We were able to be in Oahu during the 100 year anniversary of Pearl Harbor. We visited the Memornial the day before the anniversary and it was very, very crowded. I love the first picture of the United States flag blowing in the wind over the USS Arizona. We were on sacred ground that day and what a honor it was to visit a place were people gave their lives for America. We live in a blessed country.
PCC
The kids loved, loved this place!!! We spent the entire day at the PCC. We went to shows, demonstrations, luau and the night show. At the end of the day this is what we had in the back seat of the car. Three very tired worn out kids. Don't they look like they get along all the time?
