Pinewood Derby

For the past few weeks Chad and Ethan have been working on Ethan's pinewood derby. Ethan wanted to do a Tank, so here is the final project.
I am the Webelos leader and made these drivers licenses for all the boys who are a cub scout. It took a lot of time, but the boys loved them. Every boy got their own license with their picture on it.

Here I am working at the Utah DMV passing out the licenses.

All the spectators of the races got to vote on their favorite car. Ethan won the best of show. Here he is with his certificate.

Marks 40th Birthday Cake

My brother in law Mark turned 40 last month and so over Easter dinner we had a cake for him. He is really big into cycling, so I made the cycling cake. Notice how the guy on the bike goes from sitting upright to flat tires and then to crashing. My neice Chelsea came up with the flat tire idea and Chad helped me with cutting out the biker guy.

Easter 2011

We had a fun time over Easter weekend. Thursday my sister Heather came down with her family. We played several games of racket ball which was blast, I had forgotten how fun it was since it has been years since I played. Then Saturday my other sister and her family came down. We died eggs and had a egg hunt at my Dads house. The kids are mostly teenagers, except for Ethan, but they all had fun anyway. Who doesn't like getting a basket of candy?. Easter Sunday it was nice to attend church with family and take time out to think about our Father in Heaven and his son Jesus Christ. One highlight of the weekend was we were able to meet my brother, Troys girlfriend, do I hear wedding bells?
These are a example of some of the fun eggs that were died. Very creative. Jordan died these eggs.

Go see Soul Surfer

I took Alex this past weekend to see Soul Surfer. I loved this movie, it was great. A ton of people were crying and I am happy to say that only two tears rolled down my cheek, yep that's right I am not a cryer. Go see it, it is my favorite movie of the year, so far.

Alex's State Meet

Frist in state on bars.....
If you know Alex, you know she loves gymnastics. There are no words to describe how much she loves the sport. She gives up hanging with friends, parties, free time to work out 4+ hours a day 5 days a week. She does this and still gets straight A's. It is her passion!!! We absolutely do not force her to do this, we are her support and if a time comes that she wants to quit then that will be fine. Well, she has worked so hard this year and attended several meets working up to the Utah State meet which is a qualifier for Regionals in California. The week of the biggest meet of the year she ends up with the flu, misses practice and the flu turned into pneumonia and on top of that she got pink eye. Needles to say it was not the best week for her to be so sick. Friday the doctor told us she had pneumonia, so we got her on some meds and on Saturday she decided to compete anyway. We knew this would not be her best meet of the year, but we were proud of her determination. She excelled at bars with a 9.6 and ended up with first on that event. Beam she got a 9.2. She really struggled on floor and vault and we could see that she was so tired and having a hard time catching her breath. She ended up being 5th all around which is great considering she was so sick.

Alex's meet buddie, Randi. These are various pictures taken from the last few meets.

Jordan's band concert

In Febuary we were able to attend one of Jordan's band concerts. He was front and center in this song. Here he is preforming " Millenium" on the vibraphone with his fellow band members. I love attending his band concerts. Great job Jordan!!! I know I should have posted this earleir, but I had a heck of a time downloading the video onto my blog.
