Four Wheeling Fun

Saturday the 24th we went up American Fork Canyon and did some four wheeling with the Taylor's and Grandpa Wynn. We love living in Utah, the mountains are so beautiful. It was a gorgeous day and when we were finished we were covered with dirt from head to toe.

Herriman Fire

My Dad and Tami are staying with us right now, over 1200 homes have been evacuated. They live at the foot of a mountain in Herriman. The mountain is engulfed in flames. A few homes have burned and we are glued to the TV. We move from the TV to the window and watch the fire as it comes down the mountain. This experience makes me think how quick life can change in just a day or even minuets. It makes me think about what is truly important in life, family, church, friends, ect.

Update: Only 3 homes burned in the fire. Our firefighters did a great job and saved my Dad's home along with several others from burning. The first picture is of how close the fire got to my Dad's backyard. The firefighters had a backhoe come in and create a firebreak, which saved my Dad's house
This is a picture taken from my house looking toward the mountain that my Dad lives near. Throughout the night we watched the fire creep across the mountain not knowing if his house was burning or not. What a crazy sleepless night.

New blog-- LIttle miss muffet

Instead of littering my family blog with all my baking creations, I started a new blog called Little miss muffet. It is added to my Blogs I follow list. If you want some recipes, ideas, or to see what I created, just click onto that blog. I only have two items so far, but will work on adding some more. I
really loved to bake and cook and this new blog will in a way be my kitchen journal. The title comes from the nick name my Dad gave me, Little Miss Muffet, when I was a child. The following is a picture of a cupcake I made for the primary carnival.

Labor Day Weekend

This past Labor Day Weekend we were able to go to Boise, Idaho for some very special events. Chads brother Jody and their family adopted two children from Haiti, Ashton and Jessica. Friday evening they both were baptized, Ashton was baptized by Jody and Jessica was baptized by her brother Devon. Saturday we were able to go to them temple and witness their family being sealed for all eternity. It was a very special day and brought back so many memories of when our three were sealed to us.

Sunday the family got together at Chad's sister Becky's, house and had a great dinner. The kids had fun playing do you love your neighbor. Which they played for hours.

Piano award

Jordan's wonderful piano teacher did a piano olympics this summer with all of her students. Jordan worked real hard practicing his music and learning new songs. He won first place and was awarded a trophy and pizza certificates. Way to go Jordan.

Jordan and a Book Fair

If you know Jordan you know that he LOVES, LOVES, LOVES to read. He is probably one of the few kids that has actually gotten grounded from a book, until homework, chores ect. were done. Jordan and Chad went to a huge book fair at the University of Utah. Jordan was able to meet two of his favorite authors. This is a picture of Jordan with Obert Skye the author of the Leven Thumps series. The boys had a great time and even went to Jordan favorite place to eat, In and Out.
This is Jordan with Brandon Mull the author of the Fable Haven series.

Ethan's rain gutter regatta

In August for Pack Meeting the scouts had a rain gutter regatta. Chad helped Ethan build his boat, but was out of town the day of the races. Ethan won first prize over all the scouts. Ethan was very excited about this and could not wait to call Chad and tell him the good news. Go Ethan!!!

Random pictures of Gymnastics meets

Before Alex's next gymnastics season starts, I thought I better get some pictures of her level 7 season up on the blog. I was waiting so I could post some video also, but our computer will not down load video from our camera, just pictures. Alex loves this sport and actually is quite good. She came in 2nd all around in level 7 this year for the state. First on bars, second on vault and 4th and 5th on beam and floor. Go Alex.
